Muse

Olamide

I think Nigerian musicians and singers living in Nigeria don't like talking about what and who inspires their songs and songwritings.

For example, "Ghostmode" by Phyno featuring Olamide goes, "ndi ala!!!!!  ndi ala!!!!!  ndi ala!!!!!  ndi ala!!!!!  Ghostmode!!!!!  dey no dey see me!!!!!," was inspired by "ndi ala onye ala ifu reee" by Ms May at Enugu.

Phyno Fino

Flavour Nabania

Flavour's song "Mmege" has this part, "ije ngala iyoriyo anyi ejewe iyoriyo," was inspired by the Igbo dance and song "ije ngala cho i cho obu muna gi cho i cho."

Psquare

The song by Psquare, "Do me do me do me do me, man no go vex God no go vex" was inspired by the Nigerian saying, "If you do me I do you God no go vex."  The same song "Do me" has this part "biggie belle wey you be you go wound o you go wound o my baibee."  Was inspired by the Igbo children's chant, "biggie belle nwanyo afo b-e-e-r-."

Waje

Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage

The song "Onye" by Waje featuring Tiwa Savage was inspired by the Igbo language question "Onye ka ina ako makia?"

Don Jazzy

D'banj

The song "Igwe" by D'banj featuring Don Jazzy with the tune "Osi na nwata buru Ogaranya" was inspired by villagers praising a wealthy man that has done so much for their community in Igboland by calling him "Osi na nwata bulu Ogalanya."

There are so many songs and songwritings by Nigerian singers and musicians living in Nigeria that are inspired by events and human beings which they don't like talking about in their interviews.

The Bible says, "give honour to whom honour is due."

The Nigerian singers, musicians and songwriters living in Nigeria just have to acknowledge their muse publicly.
