So much NEGATIVITY on one thread…Haba!
Is Prince Charles an expert “technology, science, maths, even algorithms”? Then, why on earth would anyone expect that these would be the subjects of attention? Especially, as Prince Charles (and the royal institution that he represents) is essentially a cultural ambassador. A few weeks ago, both PM Theresa May and Chancellor Merkel were in Nigeria, and there were absolutely no Nollywood types in sight (but rather they met with the appropriate foreign affairs, defense, business, trade, etc. types). Most recently, the Governor-General of Canada was in Nigeria and visited the space agency, among others. So why the angst and seemingly petty bitterness? Mark Zukerberg visits and folks have an issue with it, and Prince Charles visits and folks also have an issue with it. Haba!!

BTW, arts and the creative industry is NOT an irrelevancy. Apart from creating thousands of direct and ancillary jobs (including jobs for the STEM types in structural, audio and electrical engineering, among others), there’s a reason that your iPhone and Apple computers are the art pieces they essentially are. Frankly, Nigerians sometimes need to loosen their collars, remove that stick firmly wedged up their behinds and simply enjoy life! SMH
