Common Igbo Names

In every Igbo family anywhere in the world, and they identify with their Igbo culture and language, they usually have common Igbo names. 


Names given to both male and female can be unisex.
 
 
In the majority of Igbo families; there's always an Emeka which is a name for the male. 


Then there's Uche which is given to both male and female. 


Ngozichukwuka Aka Ngozi is a female Igbo name which many Igbo families have one in their family. 


Ifeoma, Uju, Nonye, Oge, Chinwe, Ijeoma, Ada, Nneka are common Igbo names for females. 


For the males, Obinna, Okwuii, Ifeanyi, Osyy, Okey, Ike, are common Igbo names for males.
 
 
When the names starts with Chukwu or Chi for both males and females, they become Chyboy and Chygirl. 


When the names starts with I, f, for both males and females, they become Ifyboy and Ifygirl.
 
 
Tobenna is a male name. 


Tochukwu is a unisex name which could be shortened to Toks, Toochi, Tooo.
