Do You Want Some Igbo Sayings

If you like the Igbo Language, or you are interested in learning the Igbo Language, I have some Igbo sayings for you. 


Here they are:
 
 
"Onye ocha nna ya di ojiii" = Mixed race.
 
"Ndi ochi, ndi na akwa" = Some are rejoicing, some are mourning.
 
"Ndi oke ochicho" = Greedy people.
 
"Oke nnoko na ebute oke mkpali" = Familiarity breeds contempt.
 
"Ka ima nkea, ima nke ozo?  Ma g'asi kwana na gi amana si wo" = You know this, do you know the other one?  But don't say you know it all.
 
"Okwu agwalu ashawo nwelu laa ya" = Unbelievable words.
 
"Iti mpata ka" = A person who would rather play than study.
 
"Iti bolibooo" = A person who would rather sneer than study.
 
"Mgbe ana ama njakili ka ana ekwu eziokwu" = When people gather to tease themselves, that's when they talk the truth.
 
"Eziokwu bu ndu" = Truth is life.
 
"Ndi nfo nfoju akpa" = The people who have extra luggage and baggage.
 
"Eziokwu ga emesi puta ife" = Truth will later come out in daylight.
 
"Ukpana Okpoko gburu, nti chiri ya" = Grasshopper animal kill, ear blocked it.
 
"Ukwa ruo oge ya, o daaa" = Breadfruit reaches its time, it falls.
 



 
"Ndi nna fa nwelu ego" = Those their fathers have money.
 
"Ukwu na eje wala, wala.  Anya na eje wala, wala n'afu ya" = Legs which goes everywhere.  Eyes which goes everywhere can see them.
 
"Uka agbasa go" = Conversation has scattered.
 
"Ashiri gba kwuru ute, o na n'ute" = Gossip runs to mat, it ends on mat.
 
"Nke imelu mmadu ka onye ozo ga - eme gi" = What you do to someone is what another person will do to you.
 
"Nke ina emero, onye ozo ga - eme" = What you don't do, another person will do.
 
"Ndi uwa ezu oke" = The world people who are never satisified.
 
"Ndi ocho ngoli ngo" = The people who look for rejoicing rejoice.
 
"Aku n'esi obi ike" = Wealth strengthens the heart.
 
"Ije ngala, cho i cho" = Walking guy, cho i cho.
 
"Oburo onye buzo kpesa na emeli na okwu" = It is not the first person who reports that wins the speech.
 
"Okwu na Uka" = Speech and Conversation.
 
"Onye ji oso luo, onye ji ije ga elukwa ya" = He who gets there by running, He who walks will get there as well.
 
"Ona na di acho di" = She who is married and searches for another husband.
 
"Onye na ekwu oke okwu n'asi oke asii" = He whom talks great speech lies great lies.
 
"Ife di nma liem ego, umunna m taaa mu uta" = What is good spend my money, my kinsmen blame me.
 
"Uka di na obi" = Church is in the heart.
 
"Nwata new ezigbo omume, oyie nna ya.  Nwata new ajo omume, oyie nne ya" = Child who has good behaviour, resembles the father.  Child who has bad behaviour, resembles the mother.
 
"Aka nni kwo aka ekpe, Aka ekpe akwo aka nni." = Right hand wash left hand, Left hand wash right hand.
 
"Onye ajuju anaro efu uzo" = He whom asks questions never misses road.
 
"Ocho nma, ichota wo Jesus?" = Beauty searcher, have you found Jesus?
 
"Onye uwa kpolu asi" = He whom the world called ostracized.
 
"Nkem di iche bu ajo afa" = My own is different is a bad name.
 
"Ndi ije di n'ukwu" = They whom journeying are in their legs.
