Marriage In Nigeria

The marriageable age in Nigeria is between the ages of 18 - 25 years.  Those are the ages when people leave secondary schools, entering into the Universities, and graduating by the ages of 25.  If the person is not married by the age of 25, they would be pardoned until the age of 35.  At the age of 35 - it becomes very hard and difficult to get married, if they are single, for example.

The person may be called names like, "never going to get married," "no man wants her," "she is barren," "move in with your married sister and start caring for her children," "Slut."

When the person is not married and reaches over 40 age.  The person that is over 40 and not married, is regarded as a hopeless situation.  Because men her age in majority are married with children.  The person over 40 and not married could be a 2nd wife or a 3rd wife in Nigeria, but the polygamous men are looking at the ages of 18 - 25.

For over 40's and single in Nigeria, there are no options.  If the over 40's have good money, they can always buy their husbands.  I mean, there are wealthy married women who married their husbands for their husbands money.

And there are Nigerian men out there who are looking for a woman they can marry for her money.
